Since 1st October 2019, Belgium is one of the 60 eligible visa-exempt countries, so citizens of Belgium can easily visit New Zealand for short term stays up to three successive months for tourism or business purposes. New Zealand is an island, situated in The Southwestern Pacific Ocean. It is called a lonely planet for being isolated for a long time.
It is rich with abundant natural resources like many beaches (like Abel Tasman and Tunnel Beach, visited for everyday music and sports events), mountains covered with snow (like Mount Tongariro and Whakapapa, the largest ski area famous for skiing ). Waterfalls (like Milford Sound, a vast waterfall), spots for snowboarding and water rafting, snow resorts and winter resorts ( like Mount Hutt), and Auckland Zoo for the extensive site to see rare native and exotic animals there only found in New Zealand.
The Government of New Zealand has exempted sixty countries from the requirement of a tourist or transit visa to travel New Zealand. However, they must obtain an Electronic Travel Authority (eTA) for entering New Zealand. An New Zealand eTA is mandatory for all Belgium citizens. You can quickly get and apply an New Zealand eTA application with their Smartphone and tablet. You will have to pay a small amount for The International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL), used for protecting the environment and in the development of New Zealand.
From 31st October 2019, Belgium is one of the 60 eligible visa exempted countries whose citizens don’t require a transit visa waiver for traveling New Zealand for multiple short trips up to 90 days. However, an New Zealand eTA is required to obtain to go to New Zealand. The eTA is necessary to face the identification of each individual to cross the Border Security, and it is mandatory for all citizens. When approved, the eTA is automatically linked to the traveler’s passport. The New Zealand eTA is valid for only two years or the expiry date, whichever comes first. The eTA saves us from the hassles of consulting the consulate or embassy for obtaining a visa. The eTA also eliminates the requirement of obtaining stamps on the Border.
The Cruise passenger is required to acquire a valid New Zealand eTA as Belgium travelers arrive in New Zealand by air. Even the crew member must apply for an eTA individually, separate from that of the tourists. The workers require contacting their employers for assistance.
The Belgium citizens who are willing to only transit through Auckland International Airport on their way to a destination outside of New Zealand are also required to obtain a valid eTA.
The Belgium citizens traveling to New Zealand with their family must provide all members’ passport information while applying, the application form for the New Zealand eTA. Those who are traveling with other members or minors have to apply the eTA application form, particularly for each member.
Belgium travelers must be in good health. When requesting the NZeTA applicants, they are asked whether they are traveling to the country for receiving medical treatment or consultation. If they are in this situation, they will have to apply for a Medical Treatment Visitor Visa instead of a transit visa.
