Your payment covers the complete NZeTA application service: preparation and submission of your application, the New Zealand government fee, and the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL) for travellers visiting for tourism.
The IVL funds the protection of New Zealand's natural environment and its tourism infrastructure. It is paid once and remains effective for the full 2-year validity of your eTA — Australian permanent residents are exempt from the IVL.
Fees are paid online by credit or debit card as the final step of the application. All payments are encrypted and processed by Stripe — your card details never touch our servers.
Cancel before your application is submitted to the government and a $35 cancellation fee per application applies. After submission, fees are non-refundable. Refunds take up to 20 business days — see the full Refund Policy.
The total fee depends on the processing speed you choose: Normal (48-72 hours), Emergency (24-48 hours) or Express (12-24 hours). The price shown at the top of this page is charged per traveller and includes the government fee and the IVL tourist levy where applicable.
Yes. The International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL) is collected together with the application fee for travellers visiting for tourism. One IVL payment remains effective for the full 2-year validity of your eTA. Australian permanent residents are exempt from the IVL.

The fee is charged per traveller. Every traveller, including children and infants, needs their own approved eTA, so a family application is charged once for each family member included.
